Pedalling to Dalston: Supporting Wellbeing Through Exercise

As part of a staff trip with the young people, we enjoyed a bike ride to Dalston, combining outdoor activity, exercise and time together.
The ride offered a positive opportunity to take a break from everyday routines and enjoy the benefits of being active in the fresh air.
Cycling supported the group’s physical wellbeing while also encouraging confidence, independence and teamwork. Travelling together helped everyone take part at their own pace, share the experience and enjoy the journey to Dalston. Dalston is very close to Carlisle, and there is a back path to take with no traffic.
The trip highlighted how enjoyable physical activity can contribute to overall wellbeing. It was a valuable chance for the young people and staff to spend time together, build positive relationships and create shared memories through an active and engaging day out.

We have tried to have bike trips every summer. This was done with the help of Rebike, local charity that have bikes to rent for free to community. They can also repair your bike at a low cost. We thanks them for all the support over the year and the free bikes some of our young people received. We couldnt't do this without the support of our funders and the donations received. Thank you all.
